Immersion in the Californian culture of innovation: entrepreneurship, openness and positive disruption.

Daichi (SG)
Challenge
A major international life insurance group wanted to strengthen a growth mindset among its leaders by connecting them with cutting-edge companies and transformation pioneers in the insurance and financial services sectors. The objective was to use external insights to catalyze internal transformation.

Immersion designed
We designed a one-week transformational program in Singapore, combining collective intelligence workshops facilitated with IMD around 3 key themes: technology applied to insurance and finance, customer centricity, and digital transformation. The program also included a 1-day Learning Expedition with leading organizations such as DBS, UOB and Amplify Health. Participants were able to draw direct inspiration from their peers’ innovation roadmaps, transformation visions and methodologies.

Outcome
The program brought together 15 General Managers from different regions and entities of the group, and achieved a satisfaction score of 9/10. Beyond collective inspiration, participants left with stronger internal and external connections, as well as concrete new levers to accelerate their own transformation journeys.
Kiabi (Japan)
Challenge
In a context of rapid transformation in retail and consumer behaviors, this international fashion retailer wanted to expose its executive committee to the most advanced practices in the Japanese market. The challenge was to inform their strategic thinking around retail innovation, operational excellence, new e-commerce models and sustainable logistics, while strengthening the leadership team’s cohesion through a powerful collective experience.

Immersion designed
We designed a 5-day Learning Expedition in Japan, across Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, for the CEO and 10 executive committee members. The program combined 8 meetings with leading players in retail, supply chain, e-commerce and logistics, along with 4 team-building and cultural immersion activities. The journey began with an introduction to the Japanese market, before alternating between innovative store tours, meetings with industry leaders and the discovery of inspiring operating models. Cultural experiences, including a traditional tea ceremony and a full day in Kyoto, also helped participants better understand the specificities of the market and strengthen bonds within the group.

Outcome
The program enabled participants to leave with actionable insights on how to integrate innovative retail practices and cutting-edge technologies into their own operations. Beyond business learnings, the experience strengthened the executive committee’s cohesion through shared moments combining strategic inspiration, field exploration and cultural immersion. The program achieved a satisfaction score of 9/10.

Challenge
In a fast-changing economic and technological environment, this global mobility leader wanted to support its regional executive committee in strengthening its transformation capabilities. The challenge was to expose leaders to concrete approaches in digital transformation, sustainability and organizational change, in order to enrich their strategic vision and identify new levers for action to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving market.

Immersion designed
We designed a 3-day Learning Expedition in Singapore for 10 members of the East Asia & Australia regional executive committee. The program took participants to meet 11 diverse organizations, including multinational groups, local companies, research institutes and startups. Each day combined inspiring visits, expert exchanges and workshop sessions, enabling participants to step back, share learnings and translate insights into strategic and operational priorities.

Outcome
The program enabled leaders to strengthen their digital mindset, deepen their understanding of sustainability challenges and identify concrete levers for organizational transformation. The exchange and workshop sessions also supported the executive committee’s alignment around future priorities and next steps. The program achieved a satisfaction score of 9.2/10.
