The Summit brought together institutional investors, developers, planners, architects and city leaders to share ideas and exchange best practices, allowing us to have the opportunity to learn about the latest global real estate trends and connect with industry leaders.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5293\" src=\"http:\/\/innovao.cluster030.hosting.ovh.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Urban-Land-Institute-professionals.jpg\" alt=\"Urban Land Institute professionals\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many urban planners and professionals have begun to realize <\/span><b>the <\/b><strong>upcoming wave urban innovations as many cities gear up towards the realization of the smart city<\/strong><b>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Not only in developing new technologies, but breakthroughs also come from the change of mindset among the key players that the built environment is not rigid anymore &#8211; there are <\/span><strong>many different ways that one could utilize and improve the traditional urban use. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the areas explored during the summit, we have identified a few key fast-evolving areas which include the <\/span><strong>future of working spaces, the evolution of urban mobility and innovations on real estate alternative asset. <\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The future of workplace and occupancy<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As also published on Colliers International Paper (July), technology enhances the world of flexibility and innovation. The <\/span><strong>five primary shifts<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Colliers International has identified include: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Making employee experience a core part of business strategy<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive engagement and productivity by creating real ownership of the employee experience and bringing the service-oriented mindset into the workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Building the \u201cInternet of Workplace\u201d<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Translate technology-fueled insights to the personal level in the workplace, be it the ability to adjust workplace amenities to the individual needs, or a feedback system on underutilized facilities to make the workplace reactive, proactive and ahead in the automation impact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Making technology a wellness-enabler for employees<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>A healthy workplace and workforce lead to healthier revenue numbers, based on less sick days, higher energy and greater consistency among employees which also translates to increased work productivity. Utilize technology as a wellness enabler and take designing for wellness to the next level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ingraining coworking mentality in real estate strategy<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Coworking spaces optimally utilize costly premises, with its flexible arrangements, allowing multipurposeness of working space. Concerning population density, development level, and cultural diversity, <\/span><strong>issues of congestion, pollution, and stress become more apparent than before<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. There is a need to <strong>formulate <\/strong><\/span><strong>strategic plan and mobility projects, especially on physical, social and environmental changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this topic of urban mobility, different municipalities tend to undertake different approaches. This includes <\/span><strong>self-storage facilities, retirement living or student accommodations, micro-units and coworking spaces. <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self storage<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Self-storage facilities are getting increasingly popular, more so in robust cities where real estate prices are going up, and houses are getting smaller. The <\/span><b>five primary shifts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Colliers International has identified include: <\/span>\n<ul>\n\t<li><strong>Making employee experience a core part of business strategy<\/strong>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Drive engagement and productivity by creating real ownership of the employee experience and bringing the service-oriented mindset into the workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\t<li><strong>Building the \u201cInternet of Workplace\u201d<\/strong>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Translate technology-fueled insights to the personal level in the workplace, be it the ability to adjust workplace amenities to the individual needs, or a feedback system on underutilized facilities to make the workplace reactive, proactive and ahead in the automation impact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\t<li><strong>Making technology a wellness-enabler for employees<\/strong>\n<ul>\n\t<li>A healthy workplace and workforce lead to healthier revenue numbers, based on less sick days, higher energy and greater consistency among employees which also translates to increased work productivity. Utilize technology as a wellness enabler and take designing for wellness to the next level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\t<li><strong>Ingraining coworking mentality in real estate strategy<\/strong>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Coworking spaces optimally utilize costly premises, with its flexible arrangements, allowing multipurposeness of working space. Concerning population density, development level, and cultural diversity, <\/span><b>issues of congestion, pollution, and stress become more apparent than before<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. There is a need to formulate <\/span><b>strategic plan and mobility projects, especially on physical, social and environmental changes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this topic of urban mobility, different municipalities tend to undertake different approaches. This applies to not just the workforce but also students.
